The Classic Shaving Store Women Without Body Hair In Classic Paintings?

Women without body hair in classic paintings? - the classic shaving store

So it's something that I have for a long time. In almost all classical paintings, I have seen (as in classical paintings by Leonardo, ..) of nude women in the pictures still hairless legs / underarms / public spaces. And I do not understand why.

It seems a way to shave the hair at the time, or have reason to shave the hair feel (at least I know I could miss something), it seems as if it is the norm.

So if you know why?
